  • First Customer Deliveries Underway

DURHAM, NC (Friday, November 10, 2023) Kempower, worldwide leader in the design and manufacturing of reliable and user-friendly DC fast-charging solutions for electric vehicles; is given ‘Electrical Testing Laboratories’ certification from Intertek Testing Laboratories, allowing for production to begin at its new production facility in North America.

“This is a major milestone for our company, specifically for production that can now officially take place here at our production site in Durham,” said Tim Joyce, President of Kempower North America.

“ETL certification gives Kempower authorization to produce and ship complete charging stations from our new facility, opening a door for large-scale mass production and distribution,” said Joyce.

The ETL Listed Marking is a certified indicator to customers, including but not limited to retailers and distributors, that Kempower’s long-awaited satellites have been tested by Intertek and found to be in compliance with accepted national standards, and now can be also produced and delivered from Kempower Durham facility.

“This clearly cements Kempower fast-charging DC satellites as a top choice for chargers. This seal is an indicator that in fact, Kempower products are safe to sell all across North America,” said Joyce.

“Now that the ETL certification is in place, we are preparing for an influx in preorders for 2024 as we increase our product availability, with a target to match current production levels at our flagship headquarters in Lahti, Finland from which Kempower delivered approximately 10,000 charging points in 2022,” said Marcus Suvanto, Director Operations & Business Development, Kempower North America.
